Ludacris came back for the second year in a row to host alongside a new co-host, Vanessa Hudgens, who was complimented later in the evening by Drake for looking fabulous as always.
Beyonce led among female artists, taking home five wins including top female artist and top R&B artist.
Twenty One Pilots was awarded four trophies, including one for top duo or group, and the Chainsmokers earned three, including top dance or electronic artist.

- Sean “Diddy” Combs made a rare appearance in celebration of what would have been Biggie Smalls 45th birthday, and announced the anticipated release of his Apple Music documentary “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop: A Bad Boy Story.”
